The wetsuit recycled from the sea
Introducing the world’s first neoprene-free wetsuit, recycled from the sea. Our award-winning neutrally buoyant wetsuit system moved from concept to reality in 2001 and has been a top seller ever since. Now we bring you a – not just updated, but revolutionary – new version of Thermocline.
Good for the Ocean
Utilising a unique fabric made using ECONYL® recycled nylon from fishing nets, laminated with a waterproof membrane and thermal fleece, Thermocline revolutionises the notion that being environmentally responsible means sacrificing performance or aesthetics.
Abandoned fishing nets are brought to the surface by divers. These lost nets otherwise cause a hazard to marine life, entangling and often suffocating them. They continue to fish, long after they have been abandoned, and account for countless lives. The netting, very slow to degrade, scrubs coral, creating a desolate seascape where they are dragged over the reef by shifting currents.
The reclaimed waste is then cleaned and prepared for a unique transformation back into nylon yarn which is then used to create our Thermocline fabric.
The beauty of this yarn is that it can be recycled again and again creating a never-ending cycle of regeneration.
Ultimate performance
Perfect for all surface water sports as well as warm water scuba, this is revolutionary thermal protection. Lightweight, neutrally buoyant, machine washable, breathable and hypo-allergenic, the Thermocline full suit combines our experience of high technology fabrics with our passion for life in, on and under the water, to produce a truly versatile wetsuit system.
The fabric ensures that the wearer is more comfortable when out of the water, during surface sports, or when kitting up for a dive. The inner fleece layer draws moisture away from the skin and wicks through the breathable membrane where it evaporates off the nylon surface. In the water, the membrane traps a thin layer next to the body and prevents colder water flowing over the body, perfect for surfers, freedivers and scuba divers.
Thermocline dries rapidly, often within an hour or between dives – a quick rinse and a squeeze to get rid of excess water before hanging it up inside out should ensure it is ready for your next adventure.
Travel friendly
Store Thermocline safely with other garments and when packing for vacation there’s no need to worry about potentially damaging the fabric – it can be squeezed into that last remaining space in your luggage without any worries.
The full suit weighs less than 1kg making it ideal for those traveling and keen to keep baggage to a minimum. Plus, the large selection of separates can easily be combined to create different levels of thermal protection for varying conditions.
