What makes this product OceanPositive?

We consume nearly 1 million plastic bottles a minute globally. This waste is not always necessary and not all of it is handled responsibly. Recycling is one solution to the problem, creating new products from old, but it is just a part of tackling the problem. Rejecting single-use plastic packaging and recycling whenever and wherever possible is a step in the right direction. With small changes in our behaviour, we can make a big difference.

Made with recycled post consumer plastic waste, each Hydroskin prevents approximately 7 plastic bottles from ending up in landfill or worse still, the ocean. The prints are produced with water-based inks, limiting the amount of chemicals used in production. Packaged in compostable bags made from cassava starch.

Protect the ocean and save your skin.

Up to 14,000 tons of sunscreen washes off into our coral reefs every year and accelerates the process of coral reefs bleaching, as well as being toxic to certain reef fish species. Oxybenzone and octinoxate are the chemicals that have been flagged as being most destructive to the reef. By wearing a rashguard with built-in sun protection, you reduce the amount of sunscreen that you need to apply to your body
