Xerotherm - Thermal Baselayer
The Xerotherm is the ultimate base layer for use under a drysuit. Made using Polartec® Powerstretch® which was originally developed for NASA, the Xerotherm traps a layer of air - a much better insulator than water - next to the skin, keeping the wearer drier and more comfortable. The unisex range is designed to be worn under another undersuit or on its own under a neoprene drysuit and provides astonishing warmth without contributing to bulk or buoyancy.
“The performance is superb”. This was the reaction of Doug Allan, world renowned and award-winning underwater filmmaker and author after testing the xerotherm in -2 degree (29F) water inside the Arctic Circle in Svalbard, whilst shooting sequences for the BBC production The Blue Planet.
The xerotherm represents the ultimate in base layer performance, unrivalled by anything else on the market. Since Doug’s testing, the xerotherm has been to the top of Everest and down to the Titanic, as well as being specified by the FBI Dive Teams, Norwegian Navy and British Police Diving Units.
Products in the Range
Xerotherm 3 Piece Set
The three piece set comprises top, leggings and socks, providing top to toe thermal protection throughout the dive. Adding a vest to make up a xerotherm plus, gives extra protection to the body core without significantly affecting wearer’s buoyancy. In fact the buoyancy effects of the xerotherm are so small that they rarely impact on weight configuration, yet dramatically improve warmth.

Xerotherm Top (unisex)
Xerotherm top features include: flat seams for next to skin comfort and thumb-loops to hold the sleeves in place during donning. These thumb loops should be removed from the thumb and pushed back under the wrist seals prior to diving.
Xerotherm Vest (unisex)
The xerotherm vest provides enhanced thermal protection for the body core when layered underneath a xerotherm or other undersuit, without increasing bulk around the arms.
Xerotherm Leggings (unisex)
Features of the leggings include: flat seams for next-to-skin comfort, uniquely designed secure foot pockets to ensure the leggings stay in place during a dive and a high waistband to prevent separation of the top and leggings during the dive.
Xerotherm Socks provide excellent thermal protection and comfort. Constructed using flat locked stitching and single layer high wicking fleece fabric, they protect the extremities and complement the xerotherm undersuit range. They are low bulk and can be worn under other thermal socks without preventing making drysuit boots too tight or uncomfortable.
Xerotherm Wrist Warmers
The xerotherm wrist warmer is designed to be used with drygloves, and bridges the gap between a diver's undersuit and dry glove liner. The wrist warmer sits below the drysuit seal, and allows air to equalise with the dryglove, preventing squeeze. In the case of a glove failure, the fabric is not too thick, meaning that water will not flood through the seal. The double layer of xerotherm fabric on the inside of the wrist provides enhanced protection for an area where blood flows close to the skin surface. Hands will therefore stay warmer for longer.
Xerotherm Beanie Hat
The xerotherm hat, which is warm even when wet, is ideal pre and post dive thermal protection and complements the rest of the xerotherm range.
Xerotherm - Fast Wicking Baselayer
The knit of the xerotherm fabric produces the fastest wicking effect of any of the products in the fourth element product range. Moisture is drawn out through the fabric along fine fibres and then spreads out over the outer surface. This maintains a thin layer of air (a more efficient insulator than water) next to the skin. This is so effective in the xerotherm that some wearers report experiencing minor suit leaks during the dive without even noticing until after the dive.
