Scapa Scuba - Test the Halo3D undersuit whilst diving in Scapa Flow
Whether you are a complete beginner, an experienced diver, used to warm water or cold, dive Scapa Flow with Scapa Scuba -Orkney's only PADI Dive Centre! Home to the German High Seas Fleet that was scuttled here on 21st June 1919, Scapa Flow is undoubtedly one of the best dive sites in the world. By offering a full range of dive courses and guided dives Scapa Scuba makes Scapa Flow accessible to all level of divers. We specialise in small groups and individuals so whether you are on you’re own, or part of a group - we will be delighted to take you diving! Alongside the Dive School we have a fully stocked dive shop with our popular 'Wrecked in Scapa' clothing range. We also manufacture neoprene dry suits and offer an overnight dry suit repair service - where the suits are returned to the boat for you - a trip saver for many!
To dive Scapa Flow it is necessary for students to be PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent and be competent in dry suit diving. The wrecks vary in depth with the shallowest German cruiser (Karlsruhe) on a seabed of 26m to the deepest Battleship (Markgraf) at 46m. For those not experienced to dive deeper in Scapa Flow we offer alternative shore diving at the Churchill Barriers on the wrecks there.
With Scapa Flow situated so far north in 'cold' and 'windswept' waters, many divers have the false impression of a very hostile environment only accessible to the experienced diver. This is not the case! The water temperature stays welcoming (~ 7 - 13 degrees centigrade) and with Scapa Flow almost fully enclosed by the Orkney Islands, it remains (for the most part!) sheltered from high winds.

Maximising thermal protection whilst minimising buoyancy, the HALO 3D has body mapped insulation, strategically placed to enhance protection when in horizontal trim. Designed for use underneath membrane and trilaminate suits, the HALO 3D is the perfect complement to our current range of drysuit thermal protection. In a layering combination with Xerotherm, HALO 3D is suitable for the harshest diving conditions on the planet.
