Dive the Blue Lagoon
Called ‘Blue Lagoon’ by the locals because of its unlikely colour, this quarry's official name is Spring Lodge Lake. Once used for mining limestone, it has been left to it’s own devices for over 10 years, meaning that the site boasts approximately 32 acres of woodland, meadow, scrubland and of course aquatic areas with a plethora of wildlife.
The lake has a maximum depth of 11 metres so it is ideal for training with several training platforms, 2 boat wrecks, a howitzer field gun, sabre light tank and a hawker hunter jet plane in addition to aquatic life including sterlets, roach, tench, carp, newts, frogs, toads and even sturgeon.
Above and Below has both the Xerotherm thermal base-layer and the Arctic extreme performance undersuit available to test
These will be issued with all Drysuit rentals, and to students on courses where school drysuits are being used. Additionally, the sets will be used on a “try before you buy” basis. Rent a complete Arctic set for £10 and this will be deducted from the subsequent purchase of a new Arctic thermal 3-piece set.
