Aron Arngrimsson - Partner/Operator: Dahab Divers Technical/Team Blue Immersion
"Originally from Iceland, now residing in Dahab, Egypt as one of the founders of Team Blue Immersion. Aron started diving 10 years ago in a attempt to break away from the rat race and has never looked back. His passion for technical diving has taken him and the team to some of the best diving locations in the world doing some fantastic expeditions. Aron has written many articles for dive publications and training organisations, developed products with Fourth Element, Hollis and Ocean Reef and regularly helps organisations developing training outlines. Aron also founded TBI FX with Erik Brown where they have together filmed documentaries and commercials along with hosting numerous TV and Film productions.
Aron is a TDI/PADI Advanced Trimix Instructor with a maximum depth of 180m and holds the Icelandic depth record. He regularly supports record breaking dives being at depths between 80-130m.
Having traveled and dived over the world Aron was situated in Scotland for 2 years working as a commercial diver until he moved to Egypt in 2010 to start Team Blue Immersion with fellow members Jonas Samuelsson and Erik Brown. It is now one of the most renowned technical diving facilities in the world. The reason the team picked Dahab was simply because it is considered the technical diving Mecca of the world with depths surpassing 50m at almost every dive site and with the deepest dive site Bells dropping to 250m. Dahab also has one of the best dive sites in the world for deep technical training, the Blue Hole.
Aron´s latest team expedition was a 4 year two-part project where, in 2011 and 2013 they discovered the wreck USCGC Alexander Hamilton at 95m. 20 miles off the coast of Reykjavik, they initially conducted a deep exploration dive and then subsequently attached a memorial plaque on the ship in for the families of the fallen soldiers.
The team has an iconic approach to teaching technical diving, with interns coming and learning all aspects of technical diving. Aron focuses on teaching interns deep open circuit trimix, advanced gas blending, full face mask and rebreathers.
In 2015 Aron wants to focus on experimental research to develop decompression theory, research and development of various diving prototypes, deeper open circuit dives, deep rebreather expeditions, cave diving and expedition videography for various projects.
