RICH STEVENSON

Rich Stevenson - Underwater photographer and videographer

Rich Stevenson is a 40 year old professional diver married to Victoria with 2 children, Keira and William. They live near Plymouth on the South Coast of England.

Rich has been working as a professional diver since 1995 and runs his company Diving and Marine Solutions since 1997. Rich specialises in underwater filming and photography, media project support, Rebreather Instruction and charter vessel operation. He also does underwater inspection and survey work for commercial diving companies and organisations.

What inspires Rich to get in the water is exploration and research. Over the past 15 years he has been involved in almost every major underwater wreck exploration project and still continues to thrive on locating and diving new wrecks.

Rich also is one of the few wreck divers that explores underwater caves. He spends a few weeks each year enjoying the submerged passages in South West France, but has also diving extensively in Mexico and Florida, and also conducts cave training for aspiring cave divers.

The company he manages has an extensive equipment inventory that includes expedition vessels, offshore RIBS, imaging equipment and rebreathers. Most of this equipment gets used by production companies and private individuals alike.

Rich is a Rebreather Instructor trainer for IANTD, an MCA / RYA Offshore Yachtmaster, HSE Part 4 Media diver and an HSE Diver trained Medic.

Underwater Illusions

It's been a solid month of shooting and a break in the updates. In the first of the blogs from principal photography underwater the team show you how we achieve a number of underwater illusions. From old school matte paintings to fibreglass rocks and silicone seaweed we've used a number of techniques to convert a public diving pool into an underwater set: vimeo.com/50236035
